Welcome to the Agile Connect Community!
Here is the 3rd Lisbon Community Meetup!
Marco Silva is a Digital Advisor for Microsoft Consulting Services in Portugal. He has several years of experience on Agile methodologies from different projects and teams he worked on, both in Portugal and abroad. He graduated from Oporto Engineering University (FEUP), lived and worked in Oporto, Lisbon and London. He has been a Tech Lead / ScrumMaster both in Portugal and London.
Based on Jason Yip’s article on Daily Meetings, daily stand-up meetings have become a common ritual of many teams, especially in Agile software development. However, there are many subtle details that distinguish effective stand-ups from a waste of time. Marco is going to share some stories and experiences on this subject and what are the common problems and some techniques that can help out some of these teams.
Nuno Pereira is a Delivery Lead @ Equal Experts and a musician wanna be with his band “Secret Symmetry”. He has worked for more than 10 years within IT and Telco’s (Sapo, Portugal Telecom, Nos) and has played in several bands since his 14.
Nuno has been using agile methodologies for a while with IT teams and as a passioned amateur musician having played in several bands he thought “How the hell can we work as an agile team in a rock band?”.
2.5 years ago Nuno had the opportunity to start a new band and try this from scratch. Nuno will show you the journey so far and how the band survived the constant changes and transformed into a better, motivated and more efficient band adapting agile methodologies and procedures like TDD, standups, retrospectives, etc.
